1,000 residents evacuated from Sierra Madre fire area The wildfire that broke out Saturday off Santa Anita Canyon Road near the Chantry Flat area in the San Gabriels has burned more than 400 acres and is about 20% contained, but is expected to burn for days in steep terrain. Following up on word that Sega intended to close its Sega Racing Studio, UK publisher Codemasters revealed that it has purchased the studio, providing the company with the opportunity to work on various Codemasters franchises such as Colin McRae and Race Driver. “In seizing this opportunity, we have created additional resources to escalate our plans in the racing segment,” said Codemasters chief executive Rod Cousens. “We hope to welcome more than 40 people to the company.” Related PostsSega

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — An inmate awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing the county, complaining he has lost more than 100 pounds because of the jailhouse menu. Broderick Lloyd Laswell says he isn't happy that he's down to 308 pounds after eight months in the Benton County jail. He has filed a federal lawsuit complaining the jail doesn't provide inmates with enough food. According to the suit, Laswell weighed 413 pounds when he was jailed in September. Police say he and a co-defendant fatally
